This campaign includes my design named AntoBain. I was surrounded in darkness in my room with a candle lit and my laptop open. Completely isolated from the rest of the world. Just me, my canvas, and my first time digging into the work of Kurt Cobain's. I was inspired by the design of his set in a video I saw and I wanted to create some design of my own. Using the pen tool in photoshop I went from one point to the next in a stream of consciousness matter. I would make sense of what the shape represented and filled it with its appropriate color. This took hours of mania and foresight like I never experienced as I brought meaning and life to these shapes like never before. The work of Kurt Cobain was eye-opening and inspirational to say the least, especially the Montage of the Heck: The Home Recordings. His words were so transparent and honest. The things he would say and the way he would act were so relatable and it encouraged me to finish what I started. I saw a lot of myself in him, even parts I have yet to show, as an artist and a musician. The purpose of this night was not to make some sort of profit out of something. It was purely my expression of what I was thinking at the moment. Moments that are immortalized into a JPEG.
One day I decided to paste it on a pair of shoes and bring it to life. So many of my peers, friends, co-workers, and strangers really seemed to like the design and I wanted to give a piece of myself to them. I wanted to turn it into the cornerstone of my business, Anto. A collection of all my creations ranging from graphical design to music. First I had to bring it to a shirt. I was thinking about getting a tattoo of the design in a mall but it was far too expensive so I walked down the strip and saw a store where they did printing of all kinds of material. I met a gentleman there that was really into my design and really encouraged me to share what I love. I ordered a shirt and went right to work doing my research online and gathering data from strangers in my target audience. Once I got the shirt I had done a photoshoot and shared what I had. The feedback was great but I knew I could take it farther. I spread the design around the shirt and came up with a product that I'm confident I could move forward with and hopefully something you can enjoy. Anto encourages you to be aware of all the consumption that we do ranging from watching TV, YouTube, Social Media, Video Games, etc. and to rather create a world of your own. Create > Consume. Peace, Love & Positivity.
